Prison, Prisoners and Privacy Roundtable

Friday 6th March 2020 at UN OHCHR Headquarters, 48 Avenue Giuseppe Motta, Geneva in Room RI-02 from 14h00 to 18h00

The workshop is being organized by the mandate of the Special Rapporteur on the right to Privacy (SRP), in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Justice, AGENFOR International, Central European Initiative, the PRE- RIGHTS project and the Department of Information Policy & Governance at the University of Malta. The issue of the extent to which the right to privacy should be enjoyed by prisoners has been raised on a number of occasions to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to Privacy (SRP), most recently during his official country visit to Korea in 2019. It has also arisen in the context of several EU-funded research projects including some diverse and sensitive subjects, such as radicalisation.
